Facilities for the Community
Lakeview has been designed to have special characteristics, formed by a varied townscape and unique facilities for the community.
Community buildings include a village hall, a temporary medical centre which will be available until the main community health centre is operational in the town centre, a village shop and two full size sports pitches allowing for all ages of the community to come together and enjoy the recreational uses available for local residents.
Whilst Village Three will see the construction of a Town Centre with the provision of a major supermarket and all the usual retail facilities you would expect for such a major development, each of the individual villages will have its own ‘Local Centre’ meeting the doorstep needs of its residents.
Lakeview Local Centre is now established and includes local shops, a village hall and opportunities for health and nursery services to be provided as the community grows.
Lakeview village hall provides a multi-use facility for Wixams Residents and opened in March 2013. The hall was delivered by Gallaghers and handed over to the Wixams community group who will manage the facility going forward.

Something for all age ranges is an all-weather multi-use Games Area available for 5 a-side football, Netball and Tennis, etc. Grass and artificial turf sports pitches have also been completed and a pavilion / changing room complex will follow in 2013 to provide a comprehensive sporting facility, meeting the needs of all age groups.
